Clinical care from a mobile telehealth platform

VER-Clinic is indicated for use by clinicians in clinical settings and for home use by  patients. Patients and clinicians use the IDM100 integrated medical tablet to interact in person or remotely via secure video  conference. The IDM100 also stores and synchronizes patient data to Electronic Medical Records. When a Virtual  Exam is conducted with the IDM100, the clinician can remotely view the  patient’s diagnostic data in real time with the clinical accuracy of an in-office exam.

Field-deployable care, anwhere on the globe

VER-MEDIC is a hardened, deployable solution providing complete diagnostic care in real time.

No longer is the question, "Is there a Doctor onboard?" applicable when it comes to an in-flight or shipboard medical emergency.  With the VER, there is always a Doctor onboard.  Using 3G, WiFi, or Satellite connectivity, you always have access to a Doctor or Specialist within our provider network, 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week.

Complete Diagnostics

Not just a tablet.  The Virtual Exam Room (VER) is a complete diagnostic tool that connects patients to doctors in real time from anywhere on the planet.

FDA Cleared

The only telehealth device of its kind to receive FDA 510K Class II clearance. Setting the standard of remote care.

Cloud technology syncs directly to a patients' electronic medical records (EMR) with Doctor's notes.

Critical Time Saving for Stroke and Heart Attack

When deployed with EMS, VER shortens the door-to-balloon time for potential STEMI (heart attack) patients through 12-lead ECG, allowing prep of the Cath Lab; as well as door-to-needle time for stroke patients with our integrated PZT camera.

Decreased Liability

No more "flying blind" with telehealth. Physicians dealing with inflight or shipboard medical emergencies get better information in real time, allowing them to make a more confident diagnosis and recommend a course of action.

Reduced Readmissions Rate

Complete telehealth solution allows hospitals to avoid costly readmissions of patients within the 30-day window by offering remote and in-home care.

The Doctor is In

True telehealth care at home or anywhere in the world.

Case Studies on How It Works

At Skilled Nursing Facilities

Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) can significantly increase their savings by using the VER to avoid costly patient readmissions to the hospital. Not only are readmissions expensive—costing thousands of dollars per occurrence—they also put patients at risk for complications and disrupt treatment plans. As well, your facility suffers PAMA penalties and loss of revenue on each missed Medicare rehabilitation day. The fact is that 78% of SNF readmissions could be avoided with the use of the VER. This means that a facility averaging just 5 readmissions per month (at the national average rehab rate of $415 with 7 days of bed use) is losing approximately $11,500 in monthly revenue by NOT using the VER.

Not only does using the VER decrease emergency room visits and hospital readmissions, but it can also improve your FIVE STAR RATINGS. Additionally, the peace of mind and marketing value of having 24/7 access to a Physician network not only gives you a huge advantage over your competition, but reassures your residents and their families that expert care is always available at the touch of a button.

In addition, EMR sync also allows remote care providers to instantly review labs, enter orders, document, and manage the patient.

In an Ambulance or Life Flight

Shorten the door-to-balloon time for potential STEMI (heart attack) patients with realtime 12-lead ECG.  Upon seing the ECG, an ER Physician can save time by putting the Cath Lab on notice and getting it prepped.

Shorten door-to-needle time for potential stroke patients with PTZ camera. The ER Physician will know in realtime whether a CT scan needs to be ordered immediately or not.

In both cases, Emergency Departments shorten their response times and increase the available window of the "golden hour."

For Life Flight, saving a life often comes down to time. Given the nature of the platform, Life Flight services are  often called to distant and remote locations, which implies a long transport time for the patient.

Historically, it has been next to impossible for a Doctor to direct care remotely. But now, with VER onboard, the receiving Physician can see the patient in realtime and direct critical, life-saving care from afar.

The evolution of remote care, realized through the VER.

On an Airplane

Currently, when there is an onboard medical emergency for a commercial aircraft, the default call is to divert the plane and declare an emergency. This costs the airlines millions of dollars per day... not to mention the inconvenience to the rest of the passengers and knock-on ripple effect to aircrews and aircraft schedules across the country. The divert call is the default, primarily because the Captain is trying to relay second-hand passenger information from a flight attendant to a Doctor at a remote call center. The call center usually has no ability to speak directly to the patient and the Captain cannot leave the cockpit due to Post-9/11 safety regulations. All of this results in a lot of confusion, uncertainty, liability, and inefficiency while trying to deal with the emergency.

But the VER changes all of that. VER eliminates the game of "telephone" between the patient, the flight attendant, the Captain, and the ground call center. Now, a Doctor in the call center can see the patient face-to-face and receive complete, realtime medical diagnostics. The Doctor can also direct the flight attendant to administer specific medications or care from the accompanying First Aid kit. All of which allows the Captain to get back to the job of flying the plane.

The result: decreased liability, higher fidelity of care, increased confidence in the Physician's diagnosis, and a better call in determining whether or not to divert the aircraft.

At a "Minute Clinic" Pharmacy

Take service to a whole new level with the VER deployed in clinics around the world. By offering remote Doctor's exams, you not only gain a serious marketing advantage over your competition, but you will also shorten patient wait time and increase your pharmacy's revenues. With EMR sync and accompanying Doctor's notes via Care Central cloud services, these exams are billable events, just like a visit to the Doctor's office!

Deployed with the Military

In a forward-deployed, austere environment, or combat zone; the odds of having a Doctor or Specialist near you are almost zero. And while a Special Operations unit may have a supremely-trained medic on the team, there are countless situations where having a Doctor on-hand would be invaluable. With the VER, that dream is now a reality. Doctor-directed remote care in real time. No matter where the front line is, we're right there with you.

In a Refugee Camp

Africa. The Middle East. Even Western Europe has now become a refugee center as a result of the fight against ISIS and the civil war in Syria. The result has been the largest humanitarian crisis the world has seen in modern times. Deploying the VER into war torn Syria or refugee camps in Jordan not only provides thousands with an opportunity to see a Doctor for the first time in their lives, but it provides life-saving care where it is needed most.

At a Rural Care Facility

VER allows you to keep revenue local and see a higher rate of admissions with a decrease in transfers. These factors positively impact health care availability in your rural area and helps equalize health care disparities by keeping vulnerable hospitals open. If a local hospital can keep nocturnal emergency patients in-house rather than transferring them, the community, patients, local doctors, hospital finances, and area  reputation all benefit—at a fraction of the cost of a full-time staff member.

On a Ship at Sea

You have a sick passenger or crew aboard your ship. Is there a Doctor onboard?

With VER, the answer is "Yes, 24/7." With the cost savings from preventing just one unnecessary medical helo evacuation, the VER has paid for itself. Whats more, your passengers and crew now always have access to the care they need, which improves the quality of the work place, lifts morale, and increases efficiency.

On an Oil Rig

While most offshore oil platforms have a safety and medical officer, these individuals rarely have specialized medical training. The default reaction when confronted with a sick or injured worker is typically to evacuate them off the rig at enormous cost. Using the VER, when you prevent just one unnecessary medical helo evacuation, it pays for itself. Whats more, your crew is happier, knowing they have access to quality care, which improves morale and increases the platform's efficiency.

The VER finds and connects to any WiFi access point of your choosing. Exam and patient data is then stored on the Care Central cyber-secure cloud.

A 3G connection anywhere in the world is the only thing the VER needs to provide live video streaming. Imagine that... a Doctor on screen, conducting a full exam and running realtime diagnostics from 10,000 miles away.

In situations where distance and mobility hamper terrestrial communication (on a ship far out to sea or in an austere environment), VER can be configured to run over a satellite connection. Contact us to discuss custom solutions for your remote connectivity needs.

Cellular Hotspot

Easily turn any smart phone into a mobile hotspot for the VER. As long as the phone has service, the Doctor is in and you're good to go.
